Couples Therapy

Couples typically seek therapy in response to a crisis, hoping for a non-judgmental third-party to help them manage the situation and their resulting feelings.

I provide these couples with a safe container to explore, cope with and resolve their problems, which often include: affairs, intimacy or financial issues, conflict, loss of connection, or questions about the future of their relationship. Often other personal issues and stressors contribute to their relationship challenges including addictions, career dissatisfaction, parenting, family of origin, or self-esteem issues.

Once we have established initial stability and trust, we search for the unmet needs and hidden vulnerabilities which usually underlie the pressing problems.

Through this exploration, I help both partners to develop or reconnect with their understanding and empathy for the other’s experience. From there, we find ways for them to work on these issues, both internally and within the relationship. Both patience and bravery are required from couples who push the edge of their capacities to learn to identify and meet each other’s needs. The couples’ hard work results in new levels of trust and communication, as well as the skills to resolve future problems.

Individual Therapy

Take a look at some of our award-winning designs and concepts.

Individuals who seek my help are often experiencing stress, anxiety or depression due to a variety of issues. Some have difficulty establishing or maintaining relationships, resolving conflicts with significant others, family, friends, and even co-workers.  It is common for adults to be dealing with addictions and sobriety, career re-evaluations, life transitions, and parenting issues, as well as problems resulting from low self-esteem.

In session, we explore various relationships and experiences, both past and present, to better understand and eventually transform uncertainty, overwhelming feelings, unwanted but unrelenting behaviors, and relationship problems.

The therapeutic relationship I establish with my clients provides a safe, non-judgmental space for them to develop a stronger sense of themselves, their issues, and more effective ways of relating to others and managing their lives.
